A New Adventure Called for A new way of communication!

Going away to college is such a huge step in anyones life, sometimes you feel lonely, and sometimes you're on cloud 9, the amount of freedom you have excites you but it slowly wears off when there's no one there to so willingly lend you hand. Family is truly amazing and you should never take them for granted. They would do ANYTHING for you and its hard to find someone else who you could say that about. I think thats been my only, for lack of better words "struggle" or dilemma i've faced since i've been here..However, I've only been here a week! :P

I arrived in Utah last friday, the night before My cousin Matt, his wife Maria, their kids, and my Auntie Linda stopped by my house to wish me farewells! My sister Amy was also in town with her son camden. Ava, Matt and Maria's older daughter is less than a year older than camden so it was very cute to see them play while the grown-ups talked!

The next morning, my mom and I left the house around 8 because our flight to salt lake was at 11. (she likes to be REALLY early) Larry dropped us off and as he hugged me goodbye, believe it or not..he started crying. Who knew tears could come out of that big guy? Mom and I had a connecting flight in Arizona (Hi sarah and kevin!) We had about an hour to spare so we decided to get some lunch, as we were chowing down we heard over the airport loud speakers something about a flight to Salt Lake City, we quickly ended our conversation so we could hear the news...was our flight delayed ? canceled? ..Nope, boarding. The next thing they said over the intercom was "Tianna Rodriguez and Christy Slack your flight is ready for take off!" We left our food right there on the table in a panic and ran to our gate. When we got on the flight we had missed the whole safety procedure and were getting some weird stares..don't ask me how we thought we had time to casually eat before our flight..the whole thing is a mystery. I told my mom when we were all settled in our sets that someone must really not want me to go to utah! she said that thats not true, God is MAKING SURE I get there by calling my name over the intercom, he must really want me there(:

This is what it looked like in Utah when we arrived! Even though i'm more a beach girl, I'll admit the mountains are BEAUTIFUL!

Joey knows I'm a sucker for cheesy gifts and lovey stuff so he surprised me with some goodies when I got to Utah. <3 him.

On my last day of staying at his house before I went to school for good, he hugged me so hard he pulled my hair out! He thought it was pretty funny. Me..not so much.

I have a meal plan at school but I have yet to use it! I'm kind of nervous to try it actually, I get mixed results from a lot of people! Joey's been spoiling me and took me out to dinner my first few nights I was at school. (He drove an hour just to do that for me!)

One of the nights we went to Chilli's, its become a tradition of ours to always go when we're together! When we first got there we had to use the restroom immediately so once we were shown to our table we both got up and went. When we came back we sat down waiting for our waiter/ waitress but no one ever came..a half hour later we decided to let the hostess know (we were trying our best to be patient!) she felt horrible and let us know the waiters were confused because of our absence while we were in the washroom and all of them thought someone else was taking care of us. As you can see above, we were in really good spirits about it and laughed it off. The manager also gave us a free desert for being so understanding. It was very kind of her(:

Sadly the fun stopped when joey had to leave early tuesday morning for a training camp in Nevada preparing him for his deployment. Before he left he gave me this ring so that I would be reminded while he was gone of how much I am loved. I am truly so blessed..
